RENT A SAILBOAT IN IBIZA

When you choose to rent a sailboat in Ibiza, it is important to note that most sailboats are available with a crew, including a licensed skipper and on many a host or hostess can be added to look after you. Some can be rented bareboat which essentially means without a crew, providing you have the appropriate license. Our portfolio includes well-known brands such as Hanse, Beneteau and Jeanneau. The captains all have local knowledge of the waters, the island and the bays and can take you to some of Ibiza’s best kept secrets. Whatever your needs, we’d be delighted to help you find the right boat, tailor-made to your requirements, for your perfect sailing holiday.

For many people who love sailing, it’s less about the destination and more about the journey of getting there: the scanning of the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean that is sometimes rewarded with the sighting of dolphins, listening to the sound of the waves breaking on the bow, taking a long and leisurely lunch onboard, sunbathing on the deck, enjoying music or having a quiet time getting away from it all. Whatever you prefer, you can do it in Ibiza. But whatever you do or wherever you go, you will experience Ibiza and her islands from a different perspective.

Most Ibiza sailboats come with a tender with an outboard engine, so you can easily go ashore to visit a restaurant, beach club or beach that is only accessible by boat, of which there are many. You can also explore some of the many caves in Ibiza and Formentera. Many boats also include a paddle board and other sea toys and inflatables can be added for your enjoyment.

Week-long sailing charters tend to start at the marina in San Antonio. From there, the journey to Formentera will take about 3-4 hours, passing the beaches of Cala Bassa and Cala Conta, Atlantis and the magnetic island of Es Vedra. You can also stop off at Cala Jondal for the infamous Blue Marlin beach club or at Salinas for its many great restaurants and beach life. There are many options, depending on if you want to relax, see the coastline of the islands, take in some of best restaurants and beach clubs that the islands have to offer or simply soak up the Spanish sunshine and Mediterranean fresh air and catch the wind and sail off to somewhere tranquil for some great snorkeling.

Sailing boats consume less fuel than motorboats, often using less than €15 per hour when the engine is running and even less if the sails are being used. Most will sleep up to 12 people on a standard 15m boat (including the crew), depending on the maritime license. Sailing boats can have up to 5 cabins and most have a convertible salon.

It’s worth knowing that sailboats in Ibiza are often booked up early as they offer better value than other boats. They are mainly available for week-long bookings, running from Saturday to Saturday. Rentals typically start from early April until the end of October, so bear all this in mind when you are planning your holiday.Chartering a sailboat would give you an amazing holiday in Ibiza and Formentera and we can help you find the perfect boat and tailor-make a package to your requirements.
